Stan and Ali represent England at JHIs
Stan Heap and Ali Masson ran for England in the Junior Home Internationals held in Northern Ireland over the weekend of Oct 24/25.
New Start Process for SOGs!
This SOG Autumn Series will see maps for Orange, Green and Blue being available after the start, consistent with most other orienteering events. No change for Yellow maps; they’ll be given out at entry. If you want to see your map before you start, that’s also fine!
SO Junior Squad wins Peter Palmer Trophy
It was a win this morning for the SO juniors with BOK second and LEI third. LEI’s Deep Purple team won the Joan George plate. Full results now on the results page here.
SO Success at Caddihoe Chase
SO had some good results last weekend at Devon OC’s Caddihoe Chase in Fernworthy on Dartmoor. After two days of competition, with a chasing start on day 2, we had class wins from: Alan Velecky on M40; Roger Maher on M75; and Bridget Hooper on W70. Congratulations to all!

Peter Palmer Junior Relays - Bulletin 2
Southdowns Orienteers look forward to welcoming junior teams to Sussex for this year’s national night orienteering club competition which will take place on the weekend of 12-13 September 2015. Entry details are in Bulletin 2. Email the Organiser to enter.
Summer Series Finale Excitement !
The final event of the Summer Series was held in lovely sunshine in Horsham Park this morning and the series winners were announced and presented with medals after the event ! Photos.
Junior Training ahead of Peter Palmer Relays
The next junior training will be at 8pm on Saturday evening 5 September 2015. We’ll be using parts of Devil’s Dyke most relevant to the relay area. All juniors are encouraged to take part even if you are not running a night leg at the Peter Palmers this time around.

Last weekend the junior squad travelled to Nottingham to compete in the YBT Final. The event photos are here.
SO Ladies win Harvester
Bry, Clare, Sue, Lucy and Lucy picked up the Women’s Open trophy at the Harvester relays with Lucy Thraves on the last leg overhauling the runner from the 2015 British Relay Championship winning club SN to take victory after pre-race favourites FVO mispunch.
First closing date for SO jacket orders: Sun 14 Jun
To have any chance of getting club jackets in time for the Scottish Six Days then we need to place the order by Monday June 15th.
