Planner's Comments

First of all a great Thank You to all the helpers: Chris, Tim, Jill, Steve, Richard, Amelia, Robin and Ruth. Controller, setting out, map sale and dibber hire, Start, collecting controls and notices, it all went well.
The forest had dried out lately and the wood anemones are in full bloom. This together with improving weather made for a pleasant morning. I tried to use the best parts of the forest, have some technical challenges and some route alternatives. Unfortunately I had to give up some good legs on the Blue after I was informed that The Forestry Commission were going to harvest some areas and has started a conservation program in the northern part of the forest. I hope you enjoyed the courses.

SOG Series Info

SOGs are friendly club events where children and newcomers are very welcome. Yellow and Orange courses are suitable for children to run on their own with a bit of practice. Adults are welcome to shadow children until they are confident to go on their own. Green and Blue courses are run or walked by any age group - you can race competitively or just enjoy the woodland.

There are two series of events - autumn and spring of approximately 8 events each. Electronic timing (SI) is used.
