Planner's Comments

First of all a great Thank You to all the helpers: Chris, Tim, Jill, Steve, Richard, Amelia, Robin and Ruth. Controller, setting out, map sale and dibber hire, Start, collecting controls and notices, it all went well.
The forest had dried out lately and the wood anemones are in full bloom. This together with improving weather made for a pleasant morning. I tried to use the best parts of the forest, have some technical challenges and some route alternatives. Unfortunately I had to give up some good legs on the Blue after I was informed that The Forestry Commission were going to harvest some areas and has started a conservation program in the northern part of the forest. I hope you enjoyed the courses.

Sorry for late posting, just returned from Sussex Road Relays.

Really nice warm morning, good time had by all, well done Einar really good event.

Is a web app for sharing and comparing orienteering routes. You can draw your own route or upload a GPS track from your watch. It also allows you to watch an animated replay with a simulated mass start.

SOG Series Info

SOGs are friendly club events where children and newcomers are very welcome. Yellow and Orange courses are suitable for children to run on their own with a bit of practice. Adults are welcome to shadow children until they are confident to go on their own. Green and Blue courses are run or walked by any age group - you can race competitively or just enjoy the woodland.

There are two series of events - autumn and spring, of approximately 10 events each. Electronic timing (SI) is used.

The area is popular with dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders; please show consideration. Rain just before the event might make several streams deep and fast flowing. Where it is necessary to cross these streams we advise competitors to use the mapped crossings.
