Organiser's Comments

We had a pretty smooth day in terms of organisation. My job was made very easy, because I had so many willing helpers and Ed had laid the start and finish out before I arrived at 7:30!

The only thing to really challenge us was finding out at about 10:15 that there was a concert on at 11am with lots of elderly visitors who'd been directed to park in the sports centre car park! Thanks to Mark Chapman and Judith Carder's quick thinking, they diverted the orienteers up to the next two car parks and squeezed as many concert goers as possible into the sports centre. Well done. At least it justified having the parking wardens there!

Everything else went without a hitch.

Note: Participants who might normally run Short Green may wish to consider Lt Green.

Terrain Description

At the foot of the South Downs, Stanmer and Coldean offer a great mix of open parkland, steep wooded ridge for the technical courses and extensive path network.

Dog restrictions

Dogs allowed under control in University grounds and in the area

Facilities

A short drive through the park is Stanmer Village, a great example of an 18th Century

working village and Stanmer Park Tea Rooms www.stanmerpark-tearooms.co.uk which
serves hot and cold food throughout the day.

Miscellaneous

The controls will be enabled for contactless punching but will work as normal for those
that don’t own one. Contactless dibbers (SIAC) can be hired.
