🌟 Meet Our Keynote Speaker: Alan Velecky 🌟

Join us in welcoming our accomplished keynote speaker, Alan Velecky, a true club legend. With a passion for the sport since 1976, Alan's journey is a testament to dedication and excellence. After excelling as a top junior, he took a step back from elite orienteering in his 20s and early 30s. But his dedication endured, and late in the M21 age group, he made an impressive comeback, achieving podium finishes at events like the JK and eventually taking victory at the 2009 British Champs as an M40.

Alan's achievements don't stop there – he's proudly represented England in the Veteran Home Internationals and Interland on several occasions. Beyond orienteering, he's a dedicated marathon runner, recently accomplishing his goal of breaking his 2hr57 goal at the age of 57. Additionally, he takes on gruelling endurance cycling challenges, conquering road, gravel, and mountain bike trails. As a psychologist, Alan is interested in bringing insights from his profession to orienteering.

Don't Miss Alan's Afternoon Session!

The Training Day will conclude at around 4.50pm and be followed by a middle-distance race (3.5km - 4km) with shorter course options also available.

Join us as we explore the beauty of Tilgate Forest and uncover the secrets of orienteering. This year's club conference promises adventure, knowledge, and memories that could last a lifetime. See you there!
