Sam, Ffion, Stan, Scarlet and Tommy represented the South East Junior Squad (SEJS) in this years Junior Inter-Regional Championships at the end of September.

The individual event was at Winterfold and the relay took place on a glorious day at Blackheath.

Sam unfortunately had to pull out due to illness, but we still had enough runners to put out 2 boys teams and 2 girls teams for the relay on Sunday. There were some much bigger squads and the competition was, as usual, very tough.

After a dodgy start on Saturday, with a couple of our big guns mis-punching, we clawed back a few places with some gutsy running by everyone in the relay. SEJS came an impressive third in the boys relay despite an M16 having to run the final M18 leg. Scotland won overwhelmingly for the umpteenth time. SEJS came 7th out of 12. Same position as last year, but with more points.

Of the 12 athletes representing SEJS only 3 ran their correct age course. All the others had to run up an age group. This is a young squad that shows huge potential for the future.
