SO win through tough CSC heat
A tight battle in the New Forest saw our strength in depth come to the fore as we saw off strong competition from SLOW/WIM/SN and TVOC to progress to the national final.
Over 50 Southdowners made the journey west and now have to start preparing for the final at Tankersley near Barnsley on Oct 16th an area which various members remember for different reasons. Jane Lambert became British (Night) Champion here and this is where Kenny Leitch realised that he needed glasses to orienteer.
Those members that scored for the club are listed below, but even those that didn’t score will almost certainly have knocked down the scores of some of our opposition runners. While there are some familiar names at the top of this list a big shout out to Maddie Bartlett who probably had the run of the day for SO to gain 98 points and beat many older girls.
