  • Juniors round off a successful season with a podium finish at the Peter Palmer Relays
Last Updated: Sat 12 Oct 2019

Early on Sunday morning 19 members of the SO junior squad competed in this year's Peter Palmer Relays which was hosted by SAX. It's always exciting, but for the first time ever the squad was able to field four strong teams and were competitive in the main PPR as well as the daybreak competitions.

From the very start Southdowns were at the front, always leading or in second position. The top three teams closed up at the end and Troy Southall managed to hold off Swedish team OK Linne to take 2nd position by just 2 seconds. It was the junior squad's most impressive performance in a national finals and every member of the squad ran a successful leg without mispunching. Congratulations to Lola, George, Ralph, Hannah, Simreth, Sebastian, Tobias, Ilya, Beau, Sorrel, Maddie, Cameron, Emils, Tommy, Troy, Amelia, Scarlet, James, Sam and Stan. Special thanks to our Team Managers Liam, Nick, Kerria and Alex who looked after the squad throughout the night.
