Brighton City Race Weekend 20-21 December 2025
This year’s Brighton City Race weekend will be bigger and better than ever:
- 3 national ranking events
- 2 newly drawn (and one updated) maps
- 1 spectacular night out in Brighton
- All events easily accessible by public transport
The 2025 Brighton City Race is a National Event and will be the final round of the UK Urban League.
Assembly will be at the Brighthelm Centre, a new location for the race in central Brighton. It’s a larger venue with better facilities and is just a 2-minute walk south from Brighton Station.
The weekend of 20-21 December 2025 kicks off Saturday lunchtime with a Sprint race in Preston Park, Brighton. Starts from 12:00 – 13:30. Participants can then head into the city for a bit of Christmas shopping or refreshments before...
..... the City Race with starts from 17:30 – 18:30. The Junior Course 7 will feature a mass start that leaves the Brighthelm Centre at 17.30. Prize giving at 19.45.
On Sunday morning, the competition moves to Stanmer Park, Falmer for a Middle Distance race with starts 10:30 – 12:30.
This year’s Brighton City Race is a one-off special edition to tie in with the UK Urban League. With the exception of Course 7, starts will be at 1-minute intervals rather than the traditional mass start. The atmosphere though will be just as festive!
Planners Neil Crickmore, Alan Velecky and Edward Lines are now all on board. The 3 former British and JK Champions have more than 100 years of orienteering experience between them, so we’re set for a great weekend of top-quality orienteering.
Brighton is packed with attractions, so how will you spend your free time? The Brighton Pavilion; the i360, the worlds oldest aquarium; or Christmas shopping and meatballs in the new city centre IKEA.
Entries are open on Racesignup.
