Event Report Chailey Common 4th February 2012
Thank you all for turning out on such a chilly morning and for the positive (and enthusiastic!) feedback about the courses on this area which we’ve not visited for many years. It seemed that everyone enjoyed their courses and that, despite the extensive path network, many mistakes were made. Mistakes in the SE corner of the map were anticipated as it was an area that required careful navigation. However mistakes elsewhere were less expected and I think they were mainly due to the appearance of additional paths since the map was completed. As always there were many people in the background and I would like to thank the following for their contributions: Mike Baron (organising & control collecting), Jane Lambert (SI and control placing), Les Coles (SI), Gethyn Lewis (SI), Judith and Tim Carder (car parking), Neil Crickmore (control collecting), Sue Crickmore (tape collecting), Alan Williamson and Ian Curtis (map sales), Clive Hawkes and Alan Velecky (road crossing) and a special thanks to Duncan Elliott at Chailey Heritage for allowing us to park there.
