Success at South East Sprint Champs 2021

A number of SO members travelled to Chatham Dockyard for an exciting sprint around the dry dock. The courses included whether to run over a ship or around it, under a submarine or around, through tunnels and even into a huge multi-storey lifeboat warehouse.

Junior Team performs well at YBT 2021

A team of 9 juniors travelled to The Cotswolds to take part in the annual Yvette Baker Junior Finals. The competition is decided based on the scores of the first 9 competitors in your team, so we were hoping for a clean round from everyone. Our juniors didn't let us down and everyone scored to put us into 8th place out of the 12 best clubs in the country. A great effort from everyone!

Junior Home International 2019 Success

Congratulations to Ffion Jones, Stan Heap, Scarlet Heap and Tommy Heap who were selected to compete at the Junior Home Internationals in Northern Ireland this weekend. Great results for Tommy Heap winning the M14 Individuals and Scarlet Heap winning the W16 Relay leg, with solid performances from both Stan and Ffion for their teams.

A weekend orienteering camp for juniors took place in the New Forest during Nov 1-3rd. It was aimed at club juniors aged 11-13 years at Orange standard (TD3) or Yellow level (TD2) aiming to improve to Orange.

Juniors round off a successful season with a podium finish at the Peter Palmer Relays

Early on Sunday morning 19 members of the SO junior squad competed in this year's Peter Palmer Relays which was hosted by SAX. It's always exciting, but for the first time ever the squad was able to field four strong teams and were competitive in the main PPR as well as the daybreak competitions.
