Report

Thank you all for coming today - a lovely day out for some bearing practice in some nice, clean woods.
Thanks to Euan and Kieran for helping with checking out the area, Rob for supporting with the courses, Mike G for printing and more support, Di for helping organise the helpers, Mum for doing all of the important stuff on the day while I played in the woods, Euan again for helping set out the controls, grandma for setting up and manning the finish, Penny P for also helping man the finish, Hal for manning the start with us, Barrie, David and Jane for taking on operation parking, Joe, Mike and Penny for the SI work, the SEJS team for control collecting, Andy for liaising with the Forestry Commission, the Forestry Commission, the sun for shining while we set out the controls, the trees for trying to protect us from the rain, the field for letting everyone out without needing a push and most importantly the IOF for their instructions to place controls next to pits rather than inside them.
Apologies if I have forgotten anyone! Liam

SOG Series Info

SOGs are friendly club events where children and newcomers are very welcome. Yellow and Orange courses are suitable for children to run on their own with a bit of practice. Adults are welcome to shadow children until they are confident to go on their own. Green and Blue courses are run or walked by any age group - you can race competitively or just enjoy the woodland.

There are two series of events - autumn and spring of approximately 8 events each. Electronic timing (SI) is used.

Help on the day always appreciated.
