Success at JK International Festival of Orienteering
Congratulations to all those who took part in JK over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Our very own Roger won all his races and got the JK Performance Shield as well as gold medals for the sprint and the two day event in M85L. Darrell High achieved a silver medal in M55L, Heather High a bronze medal in W18E and Ruth Rhodes a bronze medal in W80L over the two-day event.
In the Sprint event Ruth Rhodes won silver in W80L and Neil Crickmore won bronze in M60L. The weekend was topped off with some excellent relay running, where we had more podium places. Nick Jarvis, Stan Heap and Tommy Heap upheld SO tradition and won the Men's Short relay and Darrell, Neil and Alan Velecky got a silver medal in the Men's 165+
Great fun was had by all. There was plenty of mud. This is definitely an event which comes highly recommended. There's always lots of SO members who travel to it and there is no minimum entry requirement.
