Junior Team performs well at YBT 2021
A team of 9 juniors travelled to The Cotswolds to take part in the annual Yvette Baker Junior Finals. The competition is decided based on the scores of the first 9 competitors in your team, so we were hoping for a clean round from everyone. Our juniors didn't let us down and everyone scored to put us into 8th place out of the 12 best clubs in the country. A great effort from everyone!
The event took place at Westonbirt Arboretum - a flat, runnable area, with subtle differences, interesting sculpture features and plenty of opportunity for parallel terrain areas. To review the courses, check out the Routegadget page.
The event was a social occasion and the assembly area was close to the start, finish and even a spectator control. All our juniors performed really well and represented their club in a fantastic way. They were rewarded in the traditional way - with an ice cream, before setting off back down the M4.

Please let us know if you have a junior who would like to take part in this event in future years - we are always keen to encourage our juniors. Usually we take a much bigger team, and there is no selection - it's open to all who want to take part, who are capable of running at least a yellow course. There is even the opportunity to run the yellow in a pair. Contact Will Heap to let him know if you have a child who is starting to be confident enough to run a yellow - we will be planning our coaching sessions and we would be pleased to involve all our up and coming juniors.
