Junior Squad training at Rewell

There were two exercises at Rewell for the older juniors.

The ‘Control Pick’ exercise was a warm up with short legs between each control. The aim was take a careful bearing, moving from control to control directly.

The ‘Attack Points’ exercise involved a number of steps. The athletes discussed with their coach the precise meaning of each of the control descriptions in order to help in visualising the area of terrain. For some controls an attack point was obvious, others had several alternatives, and for some the attack point was the previous control. As the exercise progressed the forest became thicker and it was necessary to alternate left and then right around thickets.
