Southdowns Orienteers

A Day on the Downs, 17th & 18th May

Join Southdowns Orienteers for a day at Devil’s Dyke, (two to be honest!), full of guided walks, workshops and advice on how to read maps and use a compass and don’t forget the treasure hunt for kids.

There will be experts available to advise you on the benefits of getting out and about and working towards that all important healthy heart. Something for the adults and kids. All this with the fantastic panorama provided from Devil’s Dyke.

Southdowns Orienteers will be providing a follow the string course for the little ones, a short yellow/orange navigation course and a training grid to practice thumbing and map orientation. You can go as fast or a slow as you like - we will be running a results board if you’re feeling competitive!

The event is being run by Trigpoint Hillwalking who will be providing training sessions in lowland hillwalking and navigation. Training sessions should be booked via the event website.

The National Trust will also be supporting the event along with Southdowns Way National Trail who will also be providing fun activities for children.
