SO Club Night to launch in September

Funding support from British Orienteering has been confirmed this week, and the superb sports hall facilities at Blatchington Mill School (Hove) have been booked for every Tuesday evening from 9 September 2008 onwards.

The theme of the evenings will be ‘Adventure Running’ and will combine coaching for fitness, running, and navigation etc. The club nights will be open to all club members and newcomers. Sessions will run from 7.40pm - 8.40pm and will be co-ordinated by Neil Crickmore (Club Captain) and Robert Lines. The funding from British Orienteering has come as part of our inclusion in the ‘Increasing Participation Project’ and covers 50% of the fees for the first term’s sessions whilst the club nights become established. The grants also include the provision of a permanent orienteering course at Blatchington Mill School and graphic design work needed to fully promote the evenings. Another positive outcome of this venture is the increasing link with a school that is already enthusiastic about the sport.
