Six Southdowners crowned Southern Night Champs

SO’s Ruth Rhodes, Roger Maher, Julia Jarvis, Elizabeth Bridge, Jonathan Crickmore and Rachel Collins all won their races at Greenham Common to take the titles of Southern Night Champions 2008. Peter Chapman was also a winner, but the championship title may go to an M45 BAOC runner competing on the same course.
All results for SO competitors.

These congratulations may be premature - in the past BAOC runners on courses shared by the SNC have been crowned champions. If they do this again it may rob Pete of the title.

Yes, my reading of the preliminary results too: the Inter-corps senior night competition shared course 2 with the SNC. By my estimation, this may mean that the course leader (a M45 BAOC member, who could also claim “Southern” eligibility through open club membership of SLOW) may take the titles for M35L and M40L. NB he would be ineligible for the title in his own published class because the inter-corp runners just happened not to run on the SNC course for that class. No bad feelings from me about losing to a better performance, but not a very transparent competition (Details in advance did not announce that merging of results may be used to determine SNC titles) - a lesson for future organisers?.

Elizabeth Bridge, although running under the closed club of OUOC, is also a member of Southdowns thus making it 6!
