After sliding around at River Wood with my road trainers I thought it was about time that I invested in some proper orienteering shoes. I have been looking at the Inov 8 mudclaw 300. Has anyone got any opinion on these shoes or another make.

Have had 3 to 4 pairs of these and swear by them.  Had one pair where the rubber sole peeled off - immediately replaced by Ultrasport.  They’re designed for muddy conditions and I’ve found they work exceedingly well.  Only drawback I’ve found is that in very dry and hard conditions and excessive track running the sole is a bit too aggressive and I sometimes end up with sore feet.  I think they are still doing a wide foot version - may be worth considering if you have a broad foot.
