I helped out at Preston Park yesterday (25th June).

I wish it to be known that I found the experience very rewarding indeed and the purpose of this message is simply to encourage members to volunteer to help at future events. You will find it a hoot!

I do not know how many kids (and parents) tried out the orienteering “grid” but it was a vast number and all were enthusiastic. We even had the England Hockey mascot have a go - in his lion outfit.

Well done Ali.

Barrie - many thanks for your kind comments about yesterday’s event in Preston Park. I’ve just been through the results and I think we had record numbers attempting either the String or Grid courses.

There were 29 attempts at the String Course and an amazing 190 on the Grid course ! This does include those folks who tried both Grid courses, even if I count just those on Grid Course 1 for their first attempt, there were still 150 !

Many thanks again to all who helped yesterday.
