I thoroughly enjoyed both my runs around Blacklands. Although I did feel that it was rather mean to make us run past the mince pies and mulled wine at the end of the first loop of the blue course! Thanks to all of those who helped and who helped to provide what has become a very popular Christmas tradition of Wine and mince pies at the Christmas SOG. I particularly appreciated the dry (if chilly) weather, having been totally soaked and miserable on 3 of the previous 4 weekends.
The results of the SOG are particularly notable in showing the developing strength of our Juniors. All 4 courses won by junior boys with several others close behind.
Well done all.
Can I also add my thanks to Anna and Peter for planning and organising both the (very cold) Senile last night and the SOG this morning !
We had an excellent turnout for both events and the courses were really good. I will learn that 16 not 17 follows 15 and that I really do need to visit every control !
Also thanks to all those who supplied mince pies and various bits of equipment for the mulled wine, for this morning and helped with the mulled wine, in particular Jill Weller (yes, my Mum) who did such a good job.
Can I just also add my thanks to Peter, Anna & all involved on Saturday. I am fairly new to Orienteering, and I found the course to be the most interesting, varied, challenging & fun one that I’ve done so far. When I finished I enjoyed it so much I really wanted to get up & do it all over again - but then my legs said no!
Thank you for a lovely run (or actually walk/jog in my case....)
