The Holfords and I (plus an as-yet-undecided partner) are interested in doing the BAMM next year. It’s in northern Sweden, in August, and reasonably easy to get to. Is anyone else interested in sharing car hire, accommodation, etc? Details of the event are at

it takes place on a Friday and Saturday - August 20-21. there is a course for children and old ladies - 30k and they carry your bags - and a 50k and a 70k which Nick Barrable did this year and - unsurprisingly - won.
Email me if you might be interested. I know Southdowns seems to have had so many in the OMM last weekend that I’m surprised the organsiers didn’t just move the whole thing to Ashdown Forest to save us the trouble of all that travelling, so maybe some would like a different challenge next year…

If you are into MMs, then the BAMM is worth doing once in your life. 2010 it will start in Norway I believe and you will race over the fells and border, checking out the glaciers and view.
With some careful planning, it doesnt have to be that expensive either.
Even if you are not a big MM fan, but like the outdoors (North of the Arctic Circle!) then the BAMM 30km is defo doable for most - plus they take your gear to the overnight!
The terrain is much harder with much more bare rock so none of this getting bogged down in Swamps/tussocks/marshes, etc. that you get in the UK.

I expect I will be there as I won a free entry and cabin for the week for next years race. Although maybe I could sell it on....!?
