This is a plea for helpers at the Coates Common event on 4th April.

I need helpers for:

Putting out and, as I am a mere novice at planning, checking where I have put the controls!

Putting out road signs, although probably not many needed so I may be able to cope with this.

Car parking

Map sales

Registration tent set up and SI (one person in charge and at least one helper)

Meet n Greet

Control Collection

Yes, pretty much everything really!

Thanks!

Hi Jan,

Mike and I can both help at Coates Common - neither of us are running at the mo and are unlikely to be back to 100% fitness by then !

We’re happy to set up & run the SI computers for the event.

Thanks Ali and Mike, that’s great! I do hope you will be fit and well by then to maybe try a gentle green. Would be good to get a.n.other on SI to help you both out.

You can’t miss out on going to see the happy pigs grazing on the Common, and the piglets… well, there must be over a hundred of them and they are really inquisitive and cute (if pigs can be cute?!) Mind you, I suppose in four weeks time they won’t be quite so small, more bacon buttie size… oops, did I say that?… apologies to all our vegetarians!

Jennie has offered to help with putting out controls and Jane and Chris Lambert can help collect controls so just a few more spaces to fill!

Hi Jan

I’ll volunteer for something where competence is not required, collecting, marshalling etc...setting out to a timetable is definitly beyond me.

PM me with whatever. :)

Thanks Mark, I’ll let you know nearer the day, but I think if you could help collect controls along with Chirs and Jane then that will get that job done and dusted a lot quicker!!

Still looking for a couple of volunteers for maps sales, and also someone for meet and greet.
I could dress up Champers (my labrador) in the meet and greet bib, she’d look great and would definitely draw people in, but I think she would just lick any potential customers into submission and then show them the best way to chase rabbits rather than explain how to look for controls!

I’m available for map sales if you’re still looking. (Not Tim as he’ll be elsewhere). Or SI help. Tim & I are doing the SI at Friston on 25th April and I believe I need to take the computer equipment away for that - unless it’s being used for the Regional Event on 19th.
