Thanks Sue for posting that news, I would also like to say well done to all who took part.... one day (er… night) I’ll get out there and have a go.... maybe!!

Admittedly we can’t always mention all those who did well in these forum posts ... ( but then again we could, and perhaps I will flag this for discussion at the next committee meeting as to whether we should take a little more time over highlighting results?!)....  but I feel Chris Lambert is also particularly worthy of a mention here too, was he not M18S Champion (or am I reading the results incorrectly)? He had a fellow competitor to run against and did so admirably coming in nearly 44 minutes ahead of him. I can remember Chris starting his Orienteering career about the same time as I did and for someone who did not grow up with the sport he is doing very well.

Well done to all those in the M45L age group too, a strong presence for SO in this age class!

Technically S-classes are not championship classes so no titles, trophies or medals are available. Having said that Mytchett provided a good technical challenge and many very experienced night orienteers struggled badly so just getting around at all was a notable feat.

M45 was a strong class and won by the person who made least mistakes. If only Kenny could tell the difference between 12 and 21 then we would have had five winners.

Ah yes, the 12/21 thing...well, 50 odd minutes into the event, in the sweaty darkness, 12 looked like 21 to me!! That was a 6 minute detour that will stay with me for a while…

As I said only last week...one of the reasons that our sport is so fascinating, is that faced with the same information, we all do different things....and the more stress we’re under, the more different our reactions! I think my reaction this time was on the “unique” side of “different”.

Anyway, there’s 3 types of people - those who are good with numbers and those who aren’t....

Well done to all the winners and everyone who took part! Great event on a fantastic area.

As everyone else has already said - what an excellent night for Orienteering ! Th weather was perfect, albeit a little chilly, the courses and area were definitely technical, but then is that what you should expect for the British Night Champs ?

It was a great course, I really enjoyed it and this from the girl who did the night/day leg as her intro to night o at the Harvester 4 years ago and said I’d never do that again !!

My silver medal (my first British Orienteering one too) has pride of place at home at the moment.
