The Pearsons (well, Sue and I) are going to this event which is early / mid Oct 2009.

Early days but I understand that given there are many more sports involved in this World Masters event, accom may be tricky. We intend to book accom early, for Sydney and then Lithgow.

Anyone else intending to go?

That’s great Barrie.  Les and I are going - also Ed Cox.  I believe that Roger and Pat Maher are considering it.  Les and I have already entered and booked accommodation in Sydney and Lithgow.  We hope to spend a month in Australia and visit Tasmania for some walking, the Red Centre and probably the Great Barrier Reef for sight-seeing in addition to Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

I’ll be going too - first year as a Vet! Cool. I love being old ;-)
Looking at the schedule of races for running/track and field, it seems pretty much impossible to combine O with anything, as the O takes up quite a lot of days. Depends if you just want to ‘take part in as many events as possible’ or be competitive.
