Adding email addresses to authored articles in Expression Engine

We have experienced problems when an email address is added to main text of an article in Expression Engine. Expression Engine should immediately interpret this as a hyperlink but recently it has resulted in all the following articles of that type not to be displayed on the webpage (eg. Events)

Presently, there is one sure way of entering email addresses. Many authors already use the HTML format for links to webpages.
For the time being, please use this format for entering email addresses.
This is

Email Name

where you put the email address at name@host.com and substitute Name with whoever the person is.

This way we won’t lose all the following events

Thanks,
Paul Wilson

SO Events Page issue Update 13/06

The issue has now been fixed and the Events page is now displaying all future events and the map.

Many thanks to Paul Wilson for looking into this and fixing it.

Ali Hooper

*********************************************************************************

We are aware there is currently an issue where the Events page on the website is not displaying all future events, nor the map showing locations. We are looking into this and are hoping to get it fixed as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the next 6 events are shown on the front page of the website and the links to the details pages are still working. If you do want to check out events further into the future, please go to the website for the SEOA and check the events page there - again the links to the details for our individual events pages work.

Many thanks,
Ali

New Forum Membership Currently Suspended

We have been having problems with spam members for some time now (typically 100 new members a day). This situation has recently got dramatically worse (est 500+ a day)!

As an attempt to let the automated spam-bots get bored with failed membership applications, I have suspended normal membership applications.

If any (legitimate) website users require membership of the forum in the meantime, please contact me ("Forum Member Admin") via the Contacts page on the SO website.

NB. Please provide me with enough detail (including your full name) to confirm that you have a legitimate requirement to participate. Name; Location and orienteering club (or other organization that you represent) would be a good start!

I use an RSS Client (SharpReader) to monitor websites (that support RSS) but since the new Southdowns website launch I only see the first message on a topic in the forum and subsequent messages don’t appear.
I think this was also the case when NopeSport upgraded to a new “forum engine” but has since been fixed i.e. I now see all posts.
I could see all posts on the old website - can any “tweeks” be done to the new Southdowns website RSS to get this to work again?
