LED Headtorches

I’ve noticed many orienteers are using LED headtorches, rather then the halogen ones like I currently have. I’m going to need a headtorch with a good battery life for the Three Peaks challenge in June, as we should be climbing Snowdon at 2am possibly earlier !

Given that the battery in my halogen headtorch only lasts two hours, other than carrying a second battery, can anyone offer any advice on LED ones instead ? I need something lightweight, with a good battery life and also a good range.

Do come along to the Ditchling Trail Run Tuesday 21st May starting at 7.30pm, please don’t be late. There’s a choice of four routes from 3.8km to 6.3km along the bridleways and footpaths around Ditchling Common, practically all off road. The start is in the main carpark. It’s very informal, the only equipment necessary is a pen/pencil. Hopefully see you there!

Decisions regarding the club are made at these meetings; past events are reviewed and future events discussed.

Both need entering by 5th May for the most advantageous fees:

12 May 2013 SE Sprint Champs at Wellington College, Crowthorne. Organised by SN.

JK Lost Property

Two items of lost property were left in the club tent over the JK weekend:
1) On Sunday a watch (probably ladies)
2) On Monday a small sports bra (almost certainly ladies)

Both are currently in my possession.

We found out earlier this week that we are not able to use the track at the north of the area for car parking. Car parking will now be on the old A27.
A lot of work already completed will have to be redone and new event details will be on the Southdowns website as soon as possible.
